Media Coverage：Taward a Carbon Zero Society

On October 26, 2020, in his policy speech at the extraordinary session of the Diet, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga declared that “by 2050 Japan will aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero, that is, to realize a carbon-neutral, decarbonized society. ”This is one example of how “carbon zero” and “decarbonization” have become societal keywords that are being closely examined as research themes universities are expected to pursue. This page introduces the research and initiatives being carried out at Nagasaki University for the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
